Objectives

Forming of SSCG aims to coordinate in addressing recourse gap with the development partners regarding statistical assistances of technical and financial including advisory services which are required in the implementation of National Strategies for Development of Statistics (NSDS) to upgrade the quality of national statistical system.

Terms of Reference of SSCG

  1. To ensure effectiveness of statistical assistances from DPs in the development and implementation of NSDS
  2. To ensure all development assistance for statistics sector must directly support implementation of that sectoral plan
  3. To cooperate between SSCG members and DPs from international community in seeking innovative ways to improve quality of statistics
  4. To seek advices and coordinate with other SSCG members in case of SSCG members are proposed statistical projects and actions by DPs in SSCG regular meeting
  5. To identify analytical skill needs, analogical studies in statistical sector and then report findings to SSCG for the further cooperation
  6. To secure close cooperation among SSCG members in transforming primary data to be reliable and qualified statistics
  7. To cooperate among relevant ministries, private sectors and international organizations in the compilation and dissemination of official statistics in accordance with international standard of statistics and updated technologies
  8. To assure synergic efforts in addressing challenges in the implemenation of National Strategy for Development of Statistics (NSDS)
  9. To provide a "One-Stop-Shop" for all GoM-DPs coordination in the statistics sector
  10. To evaluate, appraise and cooperate in proposed programmes and projects by DPs under statistical development assuring strong national ownership
  11. To development and implement the national capacity building plan for the development of statistics with the support of DPs
  12. To establish the sub-technical working groups in order to provide necessary technical assistance across SSCG
  13. To raise awareness statistical perception.
  14. SSCG Chair shall share prioritized and costed sector plans with SSCG members within six months.
  15. To organize the periodic meetings at least once in two months (or) three months
  16. To invite special guests to the meeting if it is necessary according to the meeting agenda.
